Fiza Farhan, Age 28 – The daughter of a father who served the Pakistan Navy, did her schooling from Bahria College, recieved her formal education earning a Bachelor Degree in Science from Lahore University of Management & Sciences. Then completedher Master’s in Business Administration- Warwick Business School.
After completing her studies, Fiza took a couple of sector consultancies to create a turnkey impact investment project. This is when in 2008, she met and joined hands with Mr.Asim Buksh – a leading businessman with the background of having business ranging from automobiles to high end fashion retail. This affiliation in March 2009, created a venture known as Buksh Foundation and Buksh Energy Private Limited. Buksh Foundation aims to create and bring clean energy projects in the rural areas of Pakistan as it has trained over 100 women as energy entrepreneurs and brought over 6000 households under solar-powered lights and has reached out over ten thousand entrepreneurs in terms of clean energy loans.
Fiza has been consistently representing the regional nad global stage of Pakistan’s development sector as a speaker across multiple conferences and forums and continues to represent her company and country at the World Energy Council, UN Foundation Practitioners Network, ADB-Asia Clean Energy Forum, Gender and Energy Network. Then she was nominated and appointed as the Future Energy Leader at the World Energy Council; conferred with “Best Performance in Renewable Energy” at the 11th Annual Environmental Excellence Award. She has been appointed as the co-chairperson of the Italian Development Committee, Lahore chapter.
Fiza, the only Pakistani entrepreneur in the world listed in the 30under30 list of Forbes Magazine. Today she is a successful business woman who has founded Buksh Foundation; is the Director of Buksh Energy Limited; holds the honoree titles of Co-Chairperson Italian Development Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan and is recently appointed as the Chief Strategy Officer of a Consulting and Training company called Compass Training & Consultancy.
