Assuming Pakistanis as a part of Hollywood is quite unimaginable but Laraib Atta Essakhelvi (daughter of Attaullah Essakhelvi, the legendary Pakistani musician & singer) turned the tables, marking her name as Pakistan’s 1st and youngest female visual effects artist in the magnificient Hollywood industry.

Laraib initiated her career at the age of 16 in 2003 with Johny Dep’s Sweeney Todd, The Chronicles of Narnia sequels and 1000 B.C and priorly worked with Glassworks, Barcelona and MPC. In 2006, at the age of 19 worked on commercials for George Michael, Rolling Stones and Disney. She has worked in the team of the Hollywood mainstream projects like X-Men, Gravity and Godzilla. Her tremendous skills and talent managed to get her work on high profiled Nike Football Promo and the Olympics that was aired world-widely and has been a part of the big VFX & Media Companies including BBC, Sky and Spanish TV.

Lariab Atta broke all the barriers and reached an imperious scale of success and achievement, and today is the epitome of modern women in Pakistan, serving as a great ambassador for the country which is more vibrant and progressive. The achievements of Lariab Atta will no doubt challenge a lot of people’s perception of how westerners feel about Pakistan as a whole.

Such a tremendous Pakistani talent has made us proud by establishing herself as a legendary visual artist globaly.
