Kunayah, an Online Bazaar that has every handmade product or item imaginable, started in the mid of October’014, customized for the Pakistani market. In an entrepreneurship exhibition and mega-event hosted by IBA named as DICE INVENT (December 2014) , the three co-founders – Sana Ashraf, Sadia Humayun and Aniqua Ali- graduates of NED University, decided to take their business model on gauge to see the public perception of startup and to seek experts counselling where they recieved positive reviews and according to the experts, the startup had a great potential that shall create a positive impact on the local industry if continued. The trio won the 3rd position in the competition where the participants included various universitites from all over Pakistan, where they recieved great mentorship and interested investors contacteing them.
Kunayah is an online store for all the art lovers where supplies for producing a handmade work could be bought and sold, that caters to handmade art and craft items and accessories.
Sana Ashraf- an artist, expertised in crafting different kind of handmade items and is aware of all the pros and cons of the industry. She decided to make an endeavor providing a platform to all artisans in the country which remained unrecognized and unrewarded in the country.
Saadia Humayun expertises in the technical areas, previously holding experience within various startups. She has worked as a content strategist, blogger and graphic artist and in Kunayah, is responsible for handling website operations and managing all the peripherals linked to it.
Aniqua Ali is working to create links with various artisans, is responsible for reaching out people with art and craft skills to be a part of Kunayah. Other than that she manages social media networks and communicating with artisans and the marketing segment.
